Academy for Civic Professionalism

Build Bridges of Knowledge

About

Borrowing from the work of William Sullivan, one could define civic professionalism as the intersection of formal knowledge, professional and ethical exploration/development, and working for the common good.  Civic professionalism is an emerging topic in liberal arts because it motivates inquiry into the relationship between academic disciplines and the public good as well as between intellectual pursuit, character formation, and vocational discernment/exploration.

Auburn University will host its second annual Academy for Civic Professionalism May 11-14 2014.  Sessions at the ACP will further explore and uncompact the topic of civic professionalism, as well as ways to incorporate its tenets into research, teaching, and practice For more information consult this page: http://www.cla.auburn.edu/cla/cce/acp/
